The Audi Q7 was first unveiled for an exclusive group of journalists. However, it was a closed-door affair that turned out to be quite a successful one with several people from Audi of America joining in to answer any questions regarding the new Audi Q7. The new Audi Q7 is built on the very same platform that is also used by the Volkswagen Touareg and the Porsche Cayenne. It also holds a wheelbase that is quite longer than the Volkswagen Touareg by almost six inches. This kind of wheelbase then provides the Audi Q7 an overall look that exudes a sleek and stretched look.
The Audi Q7 is a sport utility vehicle. This vehicle has proportions that when combined work out very nicely providing a strong look. The vehicle contains and features headlights, tail lights, rear view mirrors and door handles that exude the traditional look that is considered to be simply an Audi. The Audi Q7 SUV has a grill that goes well with the vehicle’s painted horizontal strip and as well as the adopted standard dark gray that is quite standard for Audi’s vehicle lineup. Compared to the other models in the Audi family, the chrome strip around the grille for the Audi Q7 is considered to be quite narrow thus assisting greatly in making the grille of the Audi Q7 look a less overpowering.
It could be noticed that the Audi Q7 has the very same classic proportions that Audi Avants have. This includes a high shoulder line, a narrow window area, a sloping roofline that moves towards the rear of the Audi Q7, and an angled rear window. These all combine to provide a classy look for this sport utility vehicle. Basically, the taillights of the Audi Q7 are very much like the Audi Avant with its tips forming top corners of the license plate opening. Other than that, the Audi Q7 also has a rear bumper that has two long and thin reflectors mounted on it. This rear bumper holds the added assumed function of being turn signals or rear fog lights.
Setting the Audi Q7 apart from the Volkswagen Touareg and the Porsche Cayenne is this vehicle’s optional third row seating. The center row for this sport utility vehicle has the ability to fold back down and slide forward, thus giving ample and easy access to the rear seating. It also contains a middle row that has the capacity to slide forward and provide more legroom for the rear seats. As for the third row, this entire row of seats could fold flat on the floor when it is not utilized. This gives more cargo area in the rear. The Audi Q7 also has an electronic control for this third row.

Engine Overheat: No Need To Panic

When a car’s engine overheats, most new drivers who have yet to experience their own share of overheating engines would be on the tip of their toes with their hearts pumping faster than usual. Panic is one thing that they do which is not the recommended reaction when encountering such a situation with your vehicle.
Your car’s engine usually overheats when there is a low coolant level in the coolant reservoir. If you do remember your basics, the coolant absorbs the heat from your engine so that it does not accumulate heat. So if there is no coolant or there is a low level of coolant, do expect such a situation to arise. Your coolant does not get used up so if there is a low coolant level, then there may be a leak somewhere.
When you do experience an overheating engine, the first thing you should do is turn off your car’s engine. This would facilitate in lessening any damages that could have been brought about by the situation. Also, make sure that you turn on your signal lights and flashers so that people and other motorists would know that you are experiencing a vehicle problem.
Then, you should turn the heater and the heater blow to high. This would make sure that heat is turned away from your engine. You should also open the hood of your vehicle and start checking the coolant level. Remember that you should not open the radiator cap if the engine is still hot. You can wait until it cools down.
Start adding coolant to the coolant reservoir. You can use a funnel for this task. Make sure that you add coolant up until the line which states that it is the right amount for your car. You can run to your trusted mechanic for repairs of your coolant reservoir once you are back on the road.

Upon its introduction in 1994, the Ford Aspire held a five speed manual transmission as well as an automatic transmission. The average fuel economy for the Ford Aspire is some 30 miles per gallon which is quite a different number from what the manual says. This was a subcompact car that has been made available with two options as per the number of doors.

From 1994 up until the year 1997, the Ford Motor Company sold the Ford Aspire. This was a subcompact car that has been made available with two options as per the number of doors. One held three doors while the other one held five doors. The entire body of the Ford Aspire was crafted by the Kia Motors company with headquarters in South Korea. The engine as well as the engine components was from the Mazda automobile corporation located in Japan. It is very interesting to note that this vehicle has been sold and marketed as the Kia Avella in Asia. However, if you travel to Japan and Australasia, you would be surprised to find out that the Ford Aspire is known there as the Ford Festiva. It is just one vehicle however it has been sold under different names.
The average fuel economy for the Ford Aspire is some 30 miles per gallon which is quite a different number from what the manual says. The manual claims that it can take up to 45 miles per galloon. Aside from that interesting fact, the Ford Aspire is also very much favored for parallel parking. Also known for their resistance to submit to mechanical breakdown, these Ford Aspires have been known to have the capacity to run in excess of some 200,000 miles without having to undergo major repairs.
Upon its introduction in 1994, the Ford Aspire held a five speed manual transmission as well as an automatic transmission. This vehicle is a front drive car. It generally comes with a 63 horsepower engine with four cylinders. For the two-door model, the Ford Aspire sports fog lights, a rear spoiler as well as different types of seats made available. As per the Ford Aspire that sports four doors, it holds a power rack and pinion steering. Through the years, many changes have been done to the Ford Aspire. The list includes the removal of the front spoilers, and adding in of body-colored window moldings, rear spoilers, fog lamps, tachometer, a unique instrument cluster, special seat fabrics, special door trim fabrics, and center roof pillars. There also are changes like new front bumpers, new rear bumpers, headlamps, turn signals, tail lamps, and wheel covers. Its design has been proven to work well in allowing a fairly large amount of cargo. If the rear seats are folded, the cargo is expanded greatly.

2007 Nissan Sentra: Big Surprises Inside!

Nissan’s Sentra is bigger, roomier, and more luxurious than ever before. The 2007 model marks some big changes for the popular model, changes that are sure to delight Nissan fans everywhere.

Once again, Nissan is putting into practice with its all new Sentra model something that has succeeded for them in the past: push the model up market. As it first did with the Maxima and later with the Altima, Nissan has now promoted the Sentra to make room for the pending introduction of the subcompact Versa. With the all new model, Sentra fans will find a better equipped, more polished model then any other car that has ever worn the Sentra nameplate. Intrigued? You should be: the car simply goes where no Sentra has gone before: up market.
Over the years, plenty of automakers have taken a popular selling model and elevated it one notch. Why? For a few reasons: to capitalize on demand for the model ?a more luxurious version typically carries more profits with it then the base model. Instead of losing customers to another model [or worse, another make] when they are ready to trade up, why not move up the model instead? Another reason: the introduction of a newer, but smaller model in the line up. For Nissan, the latter reason holds especially true as the subcompact Versa, a car built to compete against the likes of Scion enters the Nissan line up at about the same time.
The new Sentra is much more roomier than the previous model. In fact, it could be mistaken for a midsize car as it packs in an additional 10 cubic feet of interior space. Other surprises found with the 2007 Sentra include a center console/shifter and dual folding high back rear seats to maximize carrying potential. Importantly, front and side impact air bags are now standard and a whole host of options not previously available with the model can now be had. These options include: smart key accessibility, Bluetooth wireless, a sound system to die for.
Best of all, fuel mileage is exceptionally good. Mating a 2.0L I4 to a six speed manny tranny yields EPA estimated fuel results of 29 city/36 highway. These figures are likely to be at or near the top for any car in its category.
Yes, the Nissan Sentra is a pleasant surprise, one that the Nissan company hopes that you will notice. For people looking for a bargain basement model, the Sentra no longer qualifies. Instead, the tiny Versa takes over and it will deliver two things that Nissan knows you will love: exceptionally high gas mileage and an affordable price starting around $12,000. Look for well equipped Sentras to retail for around $18,000.
Favorite Car Song and Why

Favorite car songs and why.

I have a number of favorites, however, my all time favorite is Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody.
Since living in an extremely cold climate means taking your Corvette off the road in the winter months, a winter car is a must.
So in September we started looking for a car for winter and found a beauty, a 2 door dark green 1976 Lincoln Town Car, 5035 lbs with a nice big V-8 (460) that rode like a dream, and talk about hauling a**. I can still remember the night we picked it up. With only having the Corvette, Chuck did most of the driving. Since I hadn’t driven in a while, I told him to take it easy since I hadn’t driven in the dark for quite sometime. Well, anyone who has even driven this car knows that 30 feels like you are crawling and before you know it you are up to 50 or 60. So, yep, you guessed it, there we were on the back roads and Chuck is punching the Corvette to keep up with me. I was in heaven, with all that horsepower and car around me again. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the Corvette, but since my first car was a 2 door 1962 Chevy Belair being in a big car again put me in seventh heaven, and this one was even bigger and faster than my first one.
Of course when we got home Chuck had some choice words for me, however, it all turned out all right. And what a winter car it was, we never got stuck and believe you me Rochester gets a lot of snow. Watched many a car spin it’s wheels in the parking lot, while that big Lincoln plowed through it like it was nothing. Never missed a day of work in it either and it started up even at minus 40 and 50 wind chill, and the heat, ah the wonderful warm air it put out, just couldn’t beat it. It did yeoman service for us.
We had the Lincoln for our three remaining winters in Rochester, before moving out west. We sold it to a college student going to school in NJ. It was still in tip top shape, just some minor rust, which is just part and parcel of living on the East coast with cold, snow and salt.
Would love to find another, as we would snap it up in a minute. While not a hot rod Lincoln, it still brings back very very fond memories.
My other favorites, Little GTO, 409 (of course), and the ultimate car song for those of us that live recklessly, Deadman’s Curve.
So tell us your favorite and why. If we get enough replies, we’ll dedicate a section of the web site to car song favorites.

No matter how many advertisements and campaigns have been done by various individuals, groups, or organizations to increase the awareness of the public on driving while drunk, people still tend to get behind the wheel of a vehicle despite the fact that they are already intoxicated. In fact, drunk driving has been one of the major causes of vehicle mishaps, accidents, crashes, and collisions that have resulted to deaths and injuries of drivers and pedestrians alike.
At present, there has been a new kind of technology that has been presented to the public. It is an anti-drunk driving technology and has been foreseen to become a major factor to help out reduce the high number of deaths and injuries caused by the results drunk driving.
“A Nation Without Drunk Driving.?This is a symposium that will be sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or known as MADD as part of the International DUI (meaning Driving Under the Influence) Technology Symposium that would be held on the 19th and the 20th of this month in Albuquerque, Canada. During this symposium, the latest innovations to help out lessen the number of drunk drivers would be showcased. The list would include alcohol-detecting sensors and anklet devices. These actually test the alcohol levels in the skin so much so that the ignition on their vehicles would lock up in case they do detect that a driver is drunk. All these innovations and technologies would be presented by researchers, law enforcement officers, and criminal justice people.
According to Paul Marques, Ph. D., “We have technological solutions that can very likely save lives ?it is time we started fully using them. Most states and communities could employ this technology right away and see immediate benefits in reducing impaired driving. But they are not doing it.?Marque is a senior research scientist with PIRE Public Services Research Institute.
Dodge Magnum RT 2006 Car Review

The new Magnum is a great looking car that will get your neighbors talking as you rumble around the block. The unique styling of the Magnum will also attract gawkers in the form of 18-22 year old guys pointing for their friends to “check that out? And a few people will approach you as you are filling up the gas tank to ask, “Does it really have a Hemi?? with only a vague notion that it somehow makes the car better.
The Magnum is offered with many different engine sizes (either a 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder) with your choice of horsepower output of 190, 250, 340 and 425. The price of the vehicle also corresponds with the engine size starting at $30,345 to the expensive STR-8 model for $37,320. A big part of the mystique around this car is the Hemi engine. The Hemi is short for hemispherical combustion chamber, which creates more efficient fuel burning and allows larger valves for better airflow. Basically, it produces more power than an engine with its displacement would normally produce. (There are also drawbacks to the Hemi, which is why it isn’t the only engine that Chrysler produces).
The interior of the car looks much more expensive than you’d expect for the price of the Magnum. Since Mercedes bought Chrysler, the Dodge vehicles I’ve sampled have had a sharp improvement in interior quality. While on the road, the car is very solid and the seats are comfortable even on long highway runs.
As much as I like the looks, after driving it a while I really have to question the design concept that the Magnum offers. It is a station wagon built to transport a lot of people and a lot of stuff. But mating this with a powerful engine with the taught racing-like suspension is uncomfortable for both. It is like having a Corvette tow a small trailer, and you are in the trailer and the Corvette driver is 15 years-old, pushing the car to its limits. (Only an actual Corvette has a much more comfortable suspension than the Magnum). Even driving on smooth roads, the steering is very darty and difficult to control. And with a large car, all that weaving and road feedback is exaggerated for the passengers and everything you’ve stored in the back.
I like having a navigation system, but figuring out how to use it with the steering wheel controls made me frequently refer to the user’s manual. In spite of the high horsepower and low-end torque I played with when starting from a full stop, the RT model I drove averaged 20 MPG on the higway.
What I presume to be the target market for this car, those 18-22 year-old guys that I mentioned, will probably love this car. And as much as I love driving sports cars, the darty steering and sharp suspension make it too uncomfortable without any spectacular payoff. The 0-60 sprint is fun for a little while, but I’d pass on buying a Magnum as a daily driving vehicle.
AMAZING UWB enabled Vehicular Safety System Revealed !!
493
Good Car Safety Systems are essential to a safer ride..Come and check out the latest ultra wideband technology on the future of car safety systems !!
automotive safety, benefits of uwb, car safety systems, cars, flashG, safe cars, safety
Imagine a world with real time vehicle speed monitoring with vehicles “talking?to each other, and reducing the collision rate highly. It is now possible with UWB Technology !!
With Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology, vehicles can have real time monitoring of vehicle speed, and enhances safety by triggering safety mechanisms automatically during imminent danger. The target users are the road users, the car companies and the government. The
system can be integrated seamlessly into the existing system, and no additional user intervention is necessary. It works by having both the transmitter and receiver on the
particular vehicle, and through reflection from front objects, analyze the speed and determine if there is a need to trigger the safety mechanisms. Through this system, car users can be assured of the safety of the vehicle, and hence increase their confidence in
their vehicles and the car companies. Currently, there are substitute products available such as that from Volvo which is equipped with a radar sensor, and through monitoring the speed, decide if automatic braking is necessary. However, UWB is also a force to reckon with
and the advantages of the UWB technology are as follows:
Firstly, an advantage will be in terms of performance. Given UWB’s minimum speed of 100Mbps and up to a potential of 500Mbps, there can be better instantaneous monitoring, and hence a better triggering of safety mechanisms which will be the deciding factor between life and death. The current products are not capable of getting total collision avoidance, which might be possible with UWB due to a faster processing rate of data with UWB technology.
Secondly, the current collision avoidance products mostly utilize wave radar, laser, or infrared spectroscopy, which is highly dependent on the weather conditions, the road surface conditions and the amount of interference present in the surrounding. Ultra-Wideband(UWB) gets a clear advantage as it has been found that UWB actually works better in the presence of multipart interference, and is independent of the weather conditions.
Thirdly, UWB technology can blend in with the existing technologies, and given the low power consumption, it also need less system complexity and low costs to set up. Hence UWB create value by low investment costs.
Fourthly, UWB create value by giving the customers assurance of the safety of their vehicle every time they use it. The road users who have used UWB will have more confident in their vehicles and the car companies, and creates more demand.
However, challenges are present, and one of them is the need to ensure that it does not interfere or disrupt existing radio-communication services. As such, a set of technical
specifications and operating conditions for UWB devices has been defined, to be aligned with international standards such as those set by Europe’s Electronic Communications Committee.
To conclude, although there are some challenges ahead for UWB technology, it is nonetheless a very promising technology, which is already set to revolutionize our lives in the near future.
Five Things to Consider When Purchasing a Turbo Kit
517
When you are ready to invest in a turbo kit, you want to be confident that you are getting all the parts and components you need to give your ride the power you’ve been craving. It is natural that you have a lot of questions and could use some direction when it’s time to make your purchase.
Turbo Kit, Intercooler, Turbo Kits
When you are ready to invest in a turbo kit, you want to be confident that you are getting all the parts and components you need to give your ride the power you’ve been craving. It is natural that you have a lot of questions and could use some direction when it’s time to make your purchase. That’s where EPS Turbos comes in-read on for the top five tips on buying a turbo kit that will provide you with all that you’re looking for.
No. 1-Is It All There?
Check to make sure that all the parts, fittings, clamps, silicone hoses, and fuel and timing management components are included, in addition to the major components. In short, verify that this is a complete kit that contains everything you will need to correctly install it.
No. 2-It’s All Ball Bearings
Find a kit with a ball bearing turbo, which is much more durable and exhibits more longevity than a standard thrust bearing turbo. BB turbos reduce the spool time of the turbo as well, resulting in less turbo lag. Ceramic ball bearings are rated indestructible and don’t retain heat, making them the most common types. Ball bearing turbos are generally accepted as the industry standard for strong, long-lasting turbos.
No. 3-Nothing’s Cooler than an Intercooler
Ensure that your kit includes an intercooler. Since most turbo kits run in a range of forced induction between 6 and 9 psi and are powered by spent exhaust gasses, most generate an enormous amount of heated air. The intercooler uses the ambient air being forced at the car while driving to cool this heated air produced by the turbo. Cooled air becomes compressed, and the more air kept at the same relative PSI, the more can be forced into the motor. Keeping the motor cooler makes it not only more efficient and safe-but also provides more power.
No. 4-Do Your System a Favor with a Blow-Off Valve
A blow-off valve should also be included in your turbo kit. This valve expels the unused air that is caught in the charge pipe in between shifts or when idling down. This will allow the air that is being forced into the motor from the turbo to be caught in the charge pipe when the throttle body closes. Rather than the air traveling back to the turbo and potentially causing damage, the air is expelled through a valve into the atmosphere. The blow-off valve thus clears the system and prepares it for the next charge of air.
No. 5-I’m Not Paying for That!
Turbos are high-stress components, so it is crucial that you are covered in the event of malfunctions. From oiling problems to installation errors, components can be placed in jeopardy. You don’t want to spend more of your hard-earned money to replace components, so a strong warranty can offer you the peace of mind of knowing that your investment is covered. Unfortunately, very few turbo companies offer warranties-especially on turbos-but if you look hard enough, you can find some, such as Turbonetics.
Don’t Let Spoiled Milk Spoil Your Drive

One of the drinks that could prove to be a major spoilage in your car’s interior would be milk. In fact, with the heat of the sun and of the road finding their way inside your car, in no time at all, the spilled milk could become spoiled milk. And when this happens, the odor of spoiled milk is very disturbing and could be quite a challenge to remove.

Driving in your car with your kids can prove to be an experience that could leave you and your car’s interior very much exhausted. In fact, children can be quite clumsy that anything they hold could be found on the floor or out of their hands in just the blink of an eye. And if you are going driving on long rides with children, you always would be bringing with you food, sweets, and drinks for the kids to ingest. However, these could find their way to the floor and mar the clean interior that you have been keeping.
To remove such an annoying odor from your interior, you should try blotting up first any kind of liquid milk which could have remained in your car’s carpet or seats. You can do this task using a towel or a cotton cloth or any cloth which is absorbent enough to take in the liquid. Then, you can start pouring some baking soda over the area where the milk got spilled and spoiled. Baking soda has been known as a good absorber of odors and of liquids. Then, sprinkle some cold water on top of the baking soda and let this stand overnight. In the morning, it is then time to vacuum the area. Your purpose for doing such is to remove the baking soda off your interior.
However, even after doing this and the baking soda trick did not just work out, you can try using some white vinegar. Just apply some of this onto the area and let it stand there for 10 to 20 minutes and after that, remove the vinegar by letting paper towels or towels absorb the liquid.
